Hello! Enclosed you will find a lot of material to prepare for our next full Council meeting on:

Of particular importance to our discussion next Friday will be the draft "Getting to Pre-Eminence" document which is the product of discussions within the Executive and Systems Excellence Committees since January and builds on our full Council discussion in December. This is our first attempt to fully articulate vision, goals, outcomes, and continuous improvement measures for Minnesota's workforce development system. The draft document will be a big part of our agenda. Our goal is to get reaction/ideas to what has been drafted and turn around a revised version for discussion and consideration by Local Workforce Councils during the next two months. Please review the document in advance and be prepared to offer your ideas, potential changes, and other reactions.

I also want to call your attention to a memo to GWDC members prepared by MDES Research and Statistics office staff that offers a valuable, high level overview for us about current labor shortage information and its relevance to our work. I encourage you to review the memo as well as the publications enclosed in this packet.
