Senator Ingebrigtsen was elected to the Minnesota Senate in 2006. His special legislative concerns are public safety, environment and natural resources, agriculture, veteran affairs and rural economic development. He has also received the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Protector of Small Business Award.

Senator Ingebrigtsen lives in Alexandria, Minnesota and is married to Marilyn and has two children. He is a retired county sheriff and has an Associate in Arts degree from Alexandria Technical College.
