Representative Gunther was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1995 and has since been able to secure 1.5 million dollars in state funds for the Lake Crystal Recreational Center, restore Madelia School District’s lost revenues, and secure 1.1 million dollars in state funds for St. James Multicultural Center. His priorities are to limit government and reduce burdensome regulations, develop the economy, build a strong agricultural economy, cut taxes permanently, and provide quality education.

Representative Gunther is a member of the Fairmont Chamber of Commerce and Bethel Evangelical Free Church. He is married to Nancy and has one daughter named Elizabeth. He is also a small business owner and has a degree in marketing from St. Cloud State University.
