About GWDC Policy Committees
To maximize individual involvement and engage members as well as other stakeholders, much of the work of the Council takes place through committee work. Policy committees provide the GWDC with policy recommendations that are incorporated into the GWDC’s biennial Policy Advisory.
Policy committees run for a term of approximately 12 months, commencing in June of odd-numbered years. Committees usually meet monthly or every-other-month. Meetings generally last one to three hours and are held at the Department of Employment and Economic Development, Department of Education, or Department of Human Services; however, meetings can be held at other community locations if members prefer.
Policy committees are chaired by GWDC members. Committee members are composed of GWDC members as well as external community-stakeholder members.
All meetings are open to the public. Notice of meetings and meeting summaries are available on the GWDC website.
