Successful
entrepreneurial leaders move vertically in altitude - they have the ability
to recognize issues and their relationships at multiple levels. Within
their organizations, they are able to communicate effectively with board
leadership, staff leaders, front-line workers, and customers. Externally,
they are able to translate their front-line service delivery issues into
the context of policymaking at national, state, regional, and community
levels. People who exhibit this skill are able to take "higher altitude"
direction and bring it into their own service delivery approach and use
that direction to innovate.
